Kikyo, who is healing and taking care of wounded soldiers and pesants,
is called to a castle to help cure the lord who has fallen mysteriously
ill and who apparently is resined to his own fate, not wanting any one to
help him. Kikyo accepts, and once there she notices a powerful evil aura
is around the whole castle. She enters and finds a young man (who is
Naraku), she is very surprised when she feels nolife coming out of his
body. But the most sssurprised is Naraku who, having reconized Kikyo as
the woman whose death he caused, cannot understand why she appears to be
alive. He gets his servants to lock her up, but she obviously escapes.
In
the meanwhile the Inuyasha group have been asked (and payed after Miroku's
request) to investigate a strange mountain from which blood and bits of
demon bodys come out. Inuyasha and Miroku enter, and see two giant demons
fighting in a pit, and marvel to see that when one of the demons killed
the other, it's body got sucked into the one of the winner. Inuyasha all
of a sudden, decides to fight the remaining demon, and jumps into the pit;
Miroku realizes to late that it is a Kodoku curse: the winner absorbes the
corpse of the loser, forming a damned being. Inuyasha doesn't listen and
continues to fight until Kikyo appears, and has serious problems because
her soul spirits get absorbed into the pit as well, leaving her defence
less.
Inuyasha is extremely distracted and starts yelling that Kikyo is
important to him, and that he will always protect her... to make matters
worse, just as he is yelling it, Kagome arrives. After a bit of confusion,
Kikyo shoots a holy arrow at the roof of the cave (mountain)and every
thing is sucked out including our valliant heroes. Where does everything
go? Who started the curse? Very simple: Naraku! He wanted to create an
extra powerful demon, to then use as his body. He suceeds, and gets a new
body, that looks like his old one but is much more stronger. He then
starts thenking Kikyo (who is fainted) for helping him to get his body
without any problems, though it was a shame not to have absorbed Inuyasha
as well. Inuyasha obviously goes mad and goes for Naraku, but Naraku runs
away with Kikyo in his arms.
